Mike Mehringer

Mike was first employed with SWBT in 1978 as a Frame Attendant in St. Louis, MO. He has also held the titles of Station Installer, Lineman, Exchange Repairman, Cable Repairman and Cable Splicing Technician. Mike has served as Steward for Local 6320 and Local 6310 from the time he was first employed with AT&T through mid 2000 when he became Vice President South for Local 6310. In 2002, he was elected Executive Vice President for Local 6310. Mike was a Member of the Merger Executive Council when Local 6310 and Local 6320 were in the process of merging to become Local 6300 and better serve our Members. He continued to hold the position of Executive Vice President through August 2010 for Local 6300 at which time he was appointed President. In October 2011, Mike was elected as President. Throughout Mike’s Union career he has been involved with the Legislative Committee, served as Mobilization Coordinator and was the Chair of the Stewards Committee. He was also elected to the AT&T Bargaining Committee for the most recent contract. Mike is currently the liaison to the Election Committee. Mike is married to Carol and they have three sons: Tim, Nick and Jason.

Jim began his career in 1984 with AT&T Advertising Solutions which was previously known as AT&T Yellow Pages and AT&T Advertising and Publishing. He has served the Union as a Steward and was elected as Vice President of AT&T Advertising and Publishing in 2000 and 2004. After the merger of Local 6310 and Local 6320 in 2009, Jim was elected as Vice President of AT&T Advertising Solutions for Local 6300. In August 2010, Jim was appointed Executive Vice President, he and elected to this position in December 2011. He has served as the Liaison of the Communications Committee, the Community Services Committee and as the Editor of the Local Newsletter. Jim is currently the Liaison for the Election Committee, Communications Committee as well as the Education Committee which is responsible for the Stewards Training. Since 2004, Jim has served as the President of the Greater St. Louis CWA City Council. He has been married to his wife Shelley for over 25 years and they have three children: Bryan, Brad and Brittany.

David was first employed with SWBT as a temporary 800 information operator for the summers of 1981, 1982 and 1983. In 1985 he was hired as a permanent Operator, and has held the titles of Customer Services Technician and currently Cable Splicing Technician. David became a Steward in 1995, Chief Steward in 2009 and appointed Vice President AT&T Plant 2 in August 2010. He has been a Member of the Election Committee, Legislative Committee, Mobilization Committee and Organizing Committee. He has served as Liaison of the Legislative Committee and is currently the Liaison of the Building Committee. David has been very involved with March for Babies and United Way. He was elected to his current position of Administrative Vice President in October 2011.

Debora has been a CWA Member for 12 years. She was a Steward for 8 years and was appointed a Chief Steward in July of 2010. Debora has served as the Chair of the Community Services Committee, a Member of the Women’s Committee and is currently the Liaison of the Crash Team. She is a true asset to our Members on the Crash Team; this Committee assists Members with FMLA and Disability issues. Debora was previously a Member of the Committee on Equity and Civil Rights and the Communications Committee. While on the aforementioned Committees, Debora served as Secretary with the exception of the Women’s Committee. In addition to the Committees of the Local, Debora served as a CWA Delegate and Secretary of the Constituency Group, A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI), from 2008 – 2011. Debora was elected to her current position of Secretary in October 2011.

Virginia began her career with AT&T in 1968 as an Operator at the Beaumont and Locust location, while a senior high school. She has held various Senior Records Clerk positions during her tenure with AT&T. Virginia has held the positions of Steward in 1980, Chief Steward in 1983, Vice President of Metro and AT&T Mobility in 1994 as well as Secretary/Treasurer from 2000 through 2008 for Local 6320. After the merger of Local 6310 and Local 6320 in 2009, Virginia was elected into her current position as Treasurer of Local 6300 and was re-elected in October 2011. She has been involved with the Scholarship Committee, the Education Committee, the Technological Committee, the Audit & Budget Committee, the Mobilization Committee, and the Entertainment (Easter) Committee. Currently Virginia is the Liaison for the Civil Rights and Equity Committee as well as the Safety Committee. Virginia also serves as the District 6 Representative for the CWA National Women’s Committee as well the District 6 Representative for the Health & Safety Committee. Virginia is a proud mother of a son, Michael and daughter, Ashley as well as two grandsons.

As a CWA member for more than 22 years; he began his career with AT&T as an Operator in 1989 and is currently a Customer Services Technician in Florissant. Mark served as a Steward for both Local 6310 and Local 6320 for seven years and was appointed to position of Chief Steward in 2010. Mark was elected to his current position in October 2011.He was part of a task force in 2010 that was responsible for getting MSOC Objectives lowered to a more attainable level. Mark has served as a Member on the Legislative Committee, Bylaws Committee and the Mobilization Committee. Mark is the Liaison of the Community Services Committee.
Michael Barban

Michael began his career with AT&T as a Premises Technician October of 2007; he became a Steward in 2009 and was appointed Chief Steward in June 2011. While serving our Members as a Steward, Michael was a vital element in researching and discovering the fact that AT&T was withholding overtime pay from Premises Technician Stewards. Due to this discovery there is a pending lawsuit and an Arbitration Case against AT&T Mike was acclimated to his current position in September 2011. Michael is the Liaison of the Legislative Committee and has been a Member of the Mobilization and Building Commitees, Mike is very active with the United Way and March of Dimes campaigns.

Ken began his employment with AT&T in 2000 as a Network Center Technician at ASI in Earth City. He is the Liaison for the Mobilization Committee and has served on the Legislative and Community Services Committees. Ken became a Steward in 2006, Chief Steward in 2008 and was appointed Vice President for ASI in 2009 and elected to his current position of AT&T Vice President ASI/FACS in October 2011. He is a Member of the Board of Directors for March for Babies. This cause touches the hearts of and his wife Stephanie even more so now since the early addition of their son in the summer of 2010.

Sonja began her employment with SBC in 2000 as a temporary employee at the Executive Switchboard for SBC. In March of 2001, she became a regular full time employee as a Senior Records Clerk. Sonja is currently a Senior Reports Clerk in the CMC in Construction and Engineering. Sonja became a Union Steward in August 2002, Chief Steward in February 2006 and is the current Vice President, AT&T Metro which consists of the clerical and administrative titled Members of AT&T. She has attended the University of Hawaii for social work, the University of Missouri for Labor Law as well as the Midwest School for Women Workers 2007 and 2008. Sonja is the Liaison of Women's Committee and has attended the Organizing Institute program of the AFL-CIO and CWA. She has been success in winning internal and external organizing campaigns to include Cingular Wireless and DirecTV. She has also served on the COE and Organizing Committee and as the former secretary for Jobs with Justice and a member of APRI and CBTU. Sonja is the mother of two children Shatema and Chauncey.

Jeff has been a CWA Member for over 11 years and is currently a Service Representative at the Earth City AT&T location. He became a Steward in 2001 and was appointed as Chief Steward in 2009 for AT&T Mobility Members and in 2010 for Members at the call center on Olive. Jeff was acclimated to his current position in September 2011. He is the Liaison of the Organizing Committee and has been a Member of the Legislative Committee. Jeff have attended Stewards Training, the Organizing Institute and Leadership School. Jeff has acted as the United Way Coordinator in the AT&T call center.

John began his Apprenticeship in at Mendle Printing Company. John was laid off and continued his Apprenticeship at Wellston Journal. That job was interrupted by 4 years of active duty in the Naval Air Reserve. Upon his return he returned to the Wellston Journal,then to the Stockyard Reporter to finish his Apprenticeship. As a Journeyperson, he worked at the St. Louis Daily Record Company, where he spent the next 13 years as Chapel Chairperson, Executive Committee Member of St. Louis Typographical Union #8, Board of Trustees, Organizing Committee, Bargaining Committee Member and Delegate to many Conferences and ITU Conventions.John was employed at the St. Louis Daily Record when he was elected President of the Local in 1975. John presently serves as first Vice President of the St. Louis Labor Council, President of the St. Louis Allied Printing Trades Council and President of the Missouri State Allied Printing Trades Association. John was married to Elaine for 43 years at the time of her passing.
