Kevin was first employed with SWBT in 1979 as an Operator in St. Louis, MO. He has also held the titles of Mail Clerk, Mail Attendant, Supplies Attendant, and various Service Representative positions. Kevin first became a steward for CWA in 1983. He was elected Vice President in 1997, Executive Vice President in 2000, and became President of Local 6320 in October of 2004. Kevin has served on the bargaining committees for Wordwide Directory Products, and AT&T Operations, Inc. He has served as a member of the 2001 Service Representative Review Committee, the Technology Change Committee, and the Service Representative Churn Committee. Kevin is married to Donna and they have one child, Jacob.
Danny started work for SWBT in 1979 as an Operator in Union, MO. In 1984, he transferred to 100 N Tucker, St. Louis, MO as a Senior Records Clerk. Danny currently holds the job title of Communications Consultant and has held that title since 1989. Danny began his involvement with CWA Local 6320 as a Steward in 1985, and was promoted to a Chief Steward in 1986. He was elected an officer of Local 6320 in 1997 and has held the office of Secretary/Treasurer, Secretary, and is currently the Executive Vice President. Danny has one daughter, Jessica, and two sons, Christopher and Steven. Jessica lives in Arizona with her son and daughter, making Danny a proud grandfather. The Boy Scouts of America keep Danny and his boys very busy when he is not at AT&T or CWA.
Virginia started working at SWBT in 1968 as an Operator at the Beaumont & Locust location, while a senior high school. She has held various Senior Records Clerk positions during her tenure with SBC. Virginia's strong labor ties came from her father who was a Shop Steward for more than 20 years with the company he was employed with. Positions held by Virginia in CWA Local 6320 are Steward in 1980, Chief Steward in 1983, Vice President-B in 1994, and Secretary/Treasurer in 2000, which is the position she currently holds. She has been involved with several committees, including the Civil Rights and Equity Committee, the Scholarship Committee, the Education Committee, the Technological Committee, the Audit & Budget Committee, the Mobilization Committee, and the Entertainment (Easter) Committee. Virginia also serves as the District 6 representative for the Health & Safety Committee. Virginia is a proud mother of a son, Michael, who is currently in the Navy, and daughter, Ashley, a junior in high school.
Ron started his career with SWBT in 1969 as a Frameman, accepting a transfer in 1970 to a Test Desk Technician position. From 1972 to the present, Ron has held the titles of Station Installer, Exchange Repair Technician, PBX Installer/Repairman, and System Technician. Ron became a steward for Local 6320 in 1980, and was later appointed a Chief Steward position. Ron was elected Vice President in 1997, which is the position he currently holds. He has also overseen the Bylaws, Audit and Budget, and Technology Change committees. In 1996, Ron, with the help of many dedicated CWA members, directed the CWA project PT. Phone Home. The project consisted of wiring hospital rooms and installing a telephone at the bedside of each veteran in the two Veteran Administration hospitals in St. Louis. The CWANETT Academy Lab in St. Louis was a personal goal of Ron's that was achieved in January 2004 when St. Louis was approved as the final CWANETT lab to be installed under the program. The lab is now a part of the offices of CWA Local 6320. Ron is married to Mollie and they have two children, Ron Jr. and Jennifer.
Scott has been with the company for 33 years. He has been a Cable Splicer since 1981, prior to that he was an Office Service Clerk, Drafting Clerk and a Station Installer. Scott has been involved with the Union since 1983, during this time he has served on the Legislative, Entertainment and Organizing Committees. As well as acting a Co-Chair of United Way for CWA/AT&T. Scott was Vice President for CWA Local 6310 for seven years and he was extremely involved in the Legislative aspect. Scott is currently the Legislative Liaison and the COPE Director for Local 6300. He represents Cable Splicers, Premise Technicians, Communication Techs and Frame Attendants.
Hi my name is Jim Kolve and I am the VP of Dept. C of CWA Local 6320. Since this is the first copy of the combined newsletter, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and this department. I currently serve the Local as the Chair of the Newsletter Committee, the Community Services Committee and the Stewards Training Committee. I also serve as President of the Greater St. Louis CWA City Council. Department C comprises all of the non-management employees that work for AT&T Advertising and Publishing in the St. Louis area. Our members sell all of the advertising for the ATT Real Yellow Pages along with the yellowpages.com internet product. We have members that are artists, accounting clerks, customer service reps and sales reps. We sell, build and bill our customers for their advertising needs creating leads for their business to grow. Our customer relations representatives provide world class customer service. We have over 650 union members in this department all working in a variety of jobs.
John began his Apprenticeship in at Mendle Printing Company. John was laid off and continued his Apprenticeship at Wellston Journal. That job was interrupted by 4 years of active duty in the Naval Air Reserve. Upon his return he returned to the Wellston Journal,then to the Stockyard Reporter to finish his Apprenticeship. As a Journeyperson, he worked at the St. Louis Daily Record Company, where he spent the next 13 years as Chapel Chairperson, Executive Committee Member of St. Louis Typographical Union #8, Board of Trustees, Organizing Committee, Bargaining Committee Member and Delegate to many Conferences and ITU Conventions.John was employed at the St. Louis Daily Record when he was elected President of the Local in 1975. John presently serves as first Vice President of the St. Louis Labor Council, President of the St. Louis Allied Printing Trades Council and President of the Missouri State Allied Printing Trades Association. John was married to Elaine for 43 years at the time of her passing.
